Your Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park (Optional) or Direct to Serengeti

Option A: With Tarangire National Park (Recommended)

Your 4-day adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport. After a briefing from your guide, you will drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2–3 hours), famous for its ancient baobab trees and the largest concentration of elephants in Tanzania.

Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, where you will spot elephants, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, lions, and a variety of bird species. Stop at a scenic picnic site for lunch. In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to your accommodation near Lake Manyara or Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Option B: Direct to Serengeti (For a more focused itinerary)

If you prefer to maximize your time in the Serengeti, you can depart directly to Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Highlands. Enjoy an en-route game drive upon entering the park and settle into your Serengeti camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Karatu Lodge or Serengeti Camp (depending on chosen option)

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Central Serengeti – Full-Day Game Drive

After breakfast, depart early for the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. Enter the Serengeti through Naabi Hill Gate and immediately begin an afternoon game drive in the Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley)—a region teeming with wildlife and year-round predator activity.

Seronera Valley is famous for its high density of lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as large herds of buffalo, elephants, and antelopes. This area is also a crucial corridor for the Great Wildebeest Migration, where, depending on the season, you may witness vast herds of wildebeest and zebras on the move, often trailed by predators.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site within the park. Continue exploring other regions of the Serengeti in the afternoon, possibly heading toward the Seronera River, where hippos and crocodiles are common sights. Return to your camp or lodge as the sun sets, with the sounds of the wild providing a perfect soundtrack for the evening.

Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti—the best time to witness predators returning from their night hunts. The morning light over the plains is magical, offering exceptional photographic opportunities. After the game drive, return to your camp for a full breakfast.

After breakfast, continue your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying game drives en route. Depending on your route and time, you may stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites, known as the "Cradle of Mankind."

Arrive at your accommodation on the crater rim in the late afternoon. The views from the rim are breathtaking—the sun setting over the caldera creates a stunning panorama. Dinner and overnight at the crater rim lodge or camp.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Crater Rim Lodge or Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha

On your final day, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at first light—a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, approximately 600 meters deep and covering 260 square kilometers. Its lush floor shelters an incredible concentration of animals, including elephants, hippos, buffalo, lions, and the rare black rhino—one of the best places in Tanzania to spot this elusive species.

Enjoy a half-day game drive on the crater floor, stopping for a picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Watch hippos grunt and splash while fish eagles soar overhead. After lunch, continue with a short game drive before ascending the crater walls and beginning your return journey to Arusha.

Arrive in Arusha by early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your unforgettable 4-day safari adventure.
